Geographic Scope: Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin

Background: Essentia Health has a more than 20-year history of investing in communities across its service area. In FY23, Essentia Health contributed more than $1.7 million dollars to 140 non-profit organizations in the communities served.

Priority Focus Areas:

1. Economic Stability (Housing, Workforce, Childcare, Healthy Food)
- Support for affordable housing projects
- Workforce development and subsidized employment services
- Childcare expansion efforts
- Access to fresh, healthy foods

2. Access to Education and Healthy Youth Development (Reduction of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and asset building for youth)
- Community and youth centers
- Technology hubs for students
- Youth mentorship programming
- After-school educational support and summer camps

3. Access to Right Time, Right Place Healthcare (Increase access to comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services)
- Free or subsidized dental services for youth
- Health and wellness centers

4. Neighborhood Improvements that Promote Health and Safety (neighborhood and environmental changes)
- Park rehabilitation projects
- Community environmental improvements

Non-profit organizations only

Projects and programs that improve health in service area

Application Process: Requests for funding are reviewed on a rolling basis. Allow at least 90 days for a response.
