NOTE: Our sponsorship application process is now closed, as all available funding has been fully allocated. The application process will reopen on July 1, 2026. Our Mission Since our founding by the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council in 1979, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County has been making the important connection between individuals’ personal memories, passions and dreams, and the fulfillment of their charitable goals. By actively listening to the desires of our donors, we help create permanent charitable funds that ensure people of vision have an enduring impact on our community and the causes they hold dear. Our motto — “Be the One” — reflects our deeply-held belief that anyone can be a philanthropist and give back to our community, regardless of means. The Community Foundation reviews sponsorship opportunities to ensure the geography of our region is fairly represented and sectors reflect the interests of our donors and the needs of the community.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. In order to receive a grant through this program, organizations must also have: An IRS Letter of Determination that shows the organization is a 501(c)3 public charity. At least one current program with local impact in one of the following counties: Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, or DeSoto. An approved/current profile in The Giving Partner, a powerful, searchable online database with over 700 profiles of charitable organizations serving Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties.

Ineligibility

We do not sponsor walk/run events, festivals, or golf tournaments.
