Degenstein Foundation Charles & Betty Degenstein Foundation The Degenstein Charitable Foundation known as the Charles and Betty Degenstein Foundation was established in 1977 by Charles B. Degenstein and his wife, Claire Elizabeth (“Betty”) Weis Degenstein. Charles B. Degenstein established this charitable foundation to implement his life-long desire to improve the quality of people’s lives through support for organizations with clear statements of purpose, well-defined programs, and competent leadership. The Foundation recognizes the need to encourage progress through grants to promote: Conservation and the EnvironmentMedicine and Health CareSocial ServicesCivic Affairs and Cultural ActivitiesEducationEnhancement of Local BusinessesBeautification of Towns Since its inception, the Foundation has provided charitable grants to recipient 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations in the Snyder, Union, and Northumberland Counties.

Eligibility
