Community Enhancement Grant

    Program Description

  • Ongoing grant program (not limited to annual deadline like Community Investment Grant)
  • Designed to support community enhancement initiatives and new or enhanced services
  • Supports one-time requests to start new services or enhance existing services
  • For organizations seeking funds outside the annual Community Investment cycle

    Focus Areas

    Applications should address one of these areas:
  • Health - Substance abuse education and prevention
  • Education - Including youth mentoring, reading programs, parenting education, job training for unemployed
  • Financial Stability - Budgeting skills, financial services access for low-income families

    Eligible Service Types

    Grant may support services such as:
  • In-home programs for youth including mentoring, reading, and other services
  • Parenting education
  • Education and training programs for unemployed individuals
  • Transportation for seniors 65+ or disabled individuals (groceries, banking, recreation, etc.)
  • Financial services education and budgeting skills
  • Substance abuse identification and service option education
  • Other services addressing identified community needs/service gaps

    Eligibility Requirements

    Organizations must:
  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or have a fiscal agent
  • Be chartered or incorporated under the State of Tennessee
  • Have active and responsible governing body with no material conflicts of interest
  • Be compliant with USA PATRIOT ACT and counterterrorism laws
  • Provide current IRS Determination Letter (501(c)(3) status)
  • Provide current registration or exemption letter from Tennessee Division of Charitable Solicitations

Application Process

#### Section 1 - Contact Information (Required)
1. Organization name (must match IRS Form 990)
2. Organization address and mailing address
3. Phone and email contact information
4. Website
5. IRS Tax ID Number (numbers only, no dashes)
6. Year organization founded
7. Contact name and phone
8. Identify if organization uses another organization for fiscal management/administration
9. If yes, provide fiscal agent contact information (name, phone)
10. Specify where grant awards should be mailed (organization or fiscal agent)

#### Section 2 - Program/Service Title, Grant Amount Requested (Required)
1. Program title(s)
2. Total grant amount requested
3. Specify how much of budget RCUW will provide
4. Calculate percentage of funds requested relative to total operating budget
5. Specify when funds are needed
6. Describe what purchases/distributions will be made and when
7. Disclose if received RCUW funding in past (amount and program)
8. Sign counterterrorism certification agreement affirming:
- Compliance with USA PATRIOT ACT and counterterrorism laws
- Active and responsible governing body with no material conflicts of interest
- Organization chartered or incorporated in State of Tennessee
- Information provided is true and accurate and shared with entire Board
9. Organization Executive signature, printed name

2. Select targeted focus area:
- Health
- Education
- Income/Financial Stability
3. Select service gap provided (choose from list or describe other):

- Education and training programs for unemployed
- Transportation for seniors 65+ or disabled
- Financial services and budgeting education
- Substance abuse education

4. Describe intended use of grant funds including:
- Specific outcome(s) projected
- Rationale for specific amount requested
- How request meets community need in service gap/focus area
- How grant represents one-time request to start new service or enhance existing service per Community Enhancement Grant Criteria
5. Identify if there are other participating organizations
6. If yes, provide names of participating organizations
7. If yes, provide funding amounts from other organizations for this project
