Our Grantmaking

We are pleased to offer area nonprofits the opportunity to apply for funding to support community initiatives. The Collier Community Foundation provides grant dollars to nonprofits for programs that show measurable results in addressing community needs. The Foundation also provides dollars to support nonprofit capacity building to ensure that nonprofits have the tools needed to operate using best practices.

Working with donors, we inspire ideas, ignite action and mobilize resources to address community needs in Collier County. For Good. Forever.

Wish List Grant

No formal application process. Each nonprofit is invited to share up to two “wishes” (your needs) on the new “Wish List” tab of the Nonprofit Directory. We share well-presented requests that align with donor interests with our donors. Our donor advisors do not accept direct requests for funding.

These wishes may be funded at any time throughout the year – we just had five wishes granted! There is no need to email, call, or check on the funding status; you will receive notification or a check if a donor advisor selects your nonprofit for funding.

Eligibility

* Applicant must be a tax-exempt nonprofit organization serving Collier County, FL residents AND
* Applicant must be in operation and provide services for one full fiscal year and have filed a nonprofit tax return before applying for grants
* Applicant must meet the grant guideline criteria
* Applications must be relevant to Collier County
* Applicants must meet submission deadlines
* Applicants must agree to the Community Foundation’s Statement of Diversity.
* Applicants must agree to report back to the Community Foundation on relevant outcomes of funding.

Ineligibility

* Not Eligible for Funding:
* Grants to individuals
* Conduit organizations that fund unrelated charities
* Political campaigns
* Lobbying
* Scholarly research
* Annual campaigns
* Event Sponsorships
* Team or sport travel
* Travel-related expenses
* Organizations not serving Collier County, Florida
* The Foundation does not generally fund projects or support educational initiatives that are more appropriately the subject of public funding.
* A proposal from a public or charter school or the local government would need to address a special project or initiative not normally covered by the publicly-funded budget.
* Regarding private schools, the Foundation does not generally fund projects that serve only a discrete and fixed group of individuals without also having a broader public benefit.
* We do not fund religious activities of any kind, but tax-exempt religious organizations are eligible for grants if grant-funded activities are non-discriminatory, non-sectarian, and benefit the larger community.
* At this time, we do not provide multi-year grants through our competitive grant cycles.
* Organizations who work directly with minors in youth-serving programs must perform background checks on staff and volunteers working with minors.
