COA Local Branch Educational Support

Overview: The Education and Training Committee of the Commissioned Officers Foundation (COF) provides funding to support Commissioned Officer Association (COA) local branches for activities related to public health education and training.

Geographic Scope: National (all interested COA local branches)

Funding Distribution: Funds are allocated for specific fiscal years and distributed on a rolling basis until that year's funding is depleted.

Eligible Uses:

  • Training needs of a branch

  • Public educational events for the general community

    • Application and Approval Process:

  • Applications reviewed by COF Education and Training Committee

  • Branch notified of committee's decision within three weeks of submission

  • All branches encouraged to apply, regardless of size

    • Reporting Requirements:

  • Branches must maintain records of how funds are obligated

  • Applicants must complete a short close-out report within three months of completion of planned event
