Clinical Research Pilot Projects Grant

The Clinical Research Pilot Projects, funded by the New Jersey Department of Health, aim to advance research on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through innovative clinical initiatives. With a funding opportunity of $100,000 per year for three years, these grants support studies that enhance understanding, treatment, and service delivery for individuals with ASD. Applicants are encouraged to form multidisciplinary teams to develop best practices and improve the health and well-being of those affected by ASD in New Jersey.

Governor’s Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism
The Governor’s Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism (Council) was created by State appropriation in 1999 and has been issuing research, clinical and educational enhancement grants since 2000.  The Council’s vision is to enhance the lives of individuals with ASD across their lifespans. The Mission of the Council is to advance and disseminate the understanding, treatment, and management of ASD by means of a coordinated program of biomedical research, clinical innovation, and professional training in New Jersey.
Purpose
The purpose of these research grant programs are to promote and support research capable of advancing the mission of the Council with the issuance of 2 research initiative opportunities:

• Clinical Research Pilot Projects (3 years).Basic Science Research Pilot Projects (2 years).
• Clinical Research Pilot Projects

Clinical Research Pilot Projects aim to elucidate the etiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, and optimal means of service delivery in relation to ASD, while improving the physical and/or behavioral health and well-being of individuals with ASD. This grant program aims to support new discoveries and the development of best practices to improve the lives of people with ASD in New Jersey while encouraging the development of new clinical inter- and multidisciplinary teams.
