Caregiver Connect Grants

Status: Active

Geographic Scope: United States only

Background: These grants support caregivers in connecting with one another through local Dravet family gatherings and support groups. The program recognizes that connecting with others who understand the shared experience of caring for someone with Dravet syndrome can make a significant difference.

Purpose:
Fund local Dravet family gatherings or ongoing Dravet support groups to allow community members to connect and receive support from one another without financial burden.

Award Amount:

  • $100 - $400 per grant
  • Eligibility:

  • Must be a member of the DSF Family Network

  • Events must be held within the United States

  • Can be hosted by any caregiver or family member

  • Applicants may only apply for a grant once each calendar year
  • What Grants Can Fund:

  • Space reservations

  • Food for the event

  • Fun activities

  • Event hosting and setup
  • Examples of Funded Events:

  • Family BBQ hosted at someone's home

  • Moms brunch at a restaurant

  • Dads dinner

  • Family gathering at a park

  • Local support group meetings
  • Application Requirements:

  • Tell DSF what type of event you plan to host

  • Indicate how many other caregivers and/or families will attend

  • Propose the date of your event

  • Allow up to two weeks for application review and approval
  • Membership Requirement:

    How to Apply:
    1. Ensure you are a member of the DSF Family Network (contact sarah@dravetfoundation.org if unsure)
    2. Go to the DSF website and submit an application
    3. Include the following information:
    - Type of event you plan to host
    - Number of other caregivers and/or families who will attend
    - Proposed date of your event

    Processing Timeline:

  • Allow up to two weeks for application review and approval
  • Application Frequency:

  • Applicants may only apply for a grant once each calendar year
  • Finding Participants:

  • Can use the DSF regional support group to share information about the gathering

  • This helps identify other families in your area who may be interested in participating
