BlueCross Healthy Place Program Grant

The BlueCross Healthy Place Program aims to enhance community well-being by developing accessible public spaces. This initiative focuses on creating environments that encourage physical activity and social interaction through features like playgrounds, fitness areas, and walking paths. Eligible applicants include government entities and non-profits ready to engage the community in project planning. Projects must cater to public use and demonstrate community benefits, ensuring inclusivity and active participation.

BlueCross Healthy Places encompass a variety of features, from accessible play spaces to paved walking paths. We’ll work with you to select the amenities that best meet the needs of the area you serve.
A BlueCross Healthy Place could include:

• Community SpacesLocation Specific DesignsAdult FitnessSports Corts/FieldsAccessible ElementsPlaygrounds
• If your organization owns land and wants to create a space where your neighbors can come together, we’d like to work with you to make it happen.

Eligibility

We work with both government entities and non-profit organizations to create and revitalize their public spaces.Applying organizations must:Be the legal titleholder of the property with full approval to execute the project and ensure site readiness
Seek community input on project priorities before proposal submission
Provide metes and bounds documentation and most recent land survey upon submissionWhile working on your application, please keep in mind that your proposed project must:Be free and open to the publicDemonstrate a community benefit and include community inputInclude a project implementation timelineAgree to exclusive BlueCross Healthy Place branding and naming rights
