Park Pride Large Capital Improvements Grants

The Park Pride Large Capital Improvements Grants support transformative projects in Atlanta's parks, providing funding between $2,500 and $100,000. To apply, Friends of the Park groups must submit a Grant Questionnaire and meet specific eligibility criteria, including nonprofit status and project type. Examples of eligible projects include playgrounds, exercise equipment, and walking trails. This competitive grant aims to enhance community spaces and promote public access to improved park facilities.

NOTE:
Submitting a Grant Questionnaire is mandatory for Friends of the Park groups interested in applying for a grant for a project of $2,500 or more for the 2026 grant cycle.
Awards from $2,500 up to $100,000 or more are available to support larger and more transformative park improvement projects. The application process for grants of this size is extensive, intensive, and competitive.
Park Pride grants are only available to registered Friends of the Park groups in the City of Atlanta and unincorporated DeKalb County.
Examples of large capital improvement projects that you can implement in your neighborhood park include (but are not limited to):

• playground equipment
• exercise equipment
• tennis or basketball courts
• walking tracks or trails
• pavilions or shade structures
• boardwalks or bridges
• streambank restoration / stabilization
• and more!

Eligibility

Applicant must be a registered Friends of the Park group.
The project is a capital improvement in a park or on public land with public access in the City of Atlanta and unincorporated DeKalb County.
Friends group has 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or is a fiscal partner with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Must be a capital project.
