ARS Sue Ann and John L. Weinberg Foundation Cystic Fibrosis Chronic Rhinosinusitis Grant $20,000, one year. One available. Purpose The purpose of this award is to support and foster the study of Cystic Fibrosis Chronic Rhinosinusitis for emerging researchers, clinicians, and surgeon-scientists. Conditions Proposed projects must be related to the management of cystic fibrosis related chronic rhinosinusitis. Projects may be clinical, translational, or basic science in nature. The recipient(s) is strongly encouraged to publish the results afterward, but the American Rhinologic Society shall have the right of first refusal for publication in its journal, The International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology. Any presentation or publication of results supported by this award shall acknowledge the contribution of the ARS Sue Ann and John L. Weinberg Foundation Cystic Fibrosis Chronic Rhinosinusitis Grant. The results of research funded by the ARS must be submitted in abstract form for consideration for presentation at a national meeting of the American Rhinologic Society. Applications must be accompanied by a letter of support from the applicant’s Department Chairperson verifying that the applicant will be permitted to devote an appropriate amount of time to the proposed research project, and that appropriate support for career development is in place. Applicants must obtain letters of support from all key personnel on the project. Use of Funds Funding may not be used for salary support for the Principal Investigator; however, up to 50% of the total budget may be requested to support assistants or other technical personnel. If university policy stipulates that a portion of this very modest award must go toward institutional indirect costs, no more than ten percent (10%) of the direct costs may be applied for indirect costs. Equipment and supplies purchased with this award become the property of the recipient institution.
