2026 Annual Grants

Funder: Lost Tree Village Charitable Foundation (FL, US)

Geographic Scope: Delray Beach in southern Palm Beach County to Hobe Sound/Indiantown in southern Martin County, and from Palm Beach/Lake Worth in eastern Palm Beach County to western communities of the Glades region. Priority may be given to requests benefiting residents of Riviera Beach.

  • Award Amount: $5,000 to $100,000. Larger requests MAY be considered for high-impact, transformative construction projects. Contact Foundation prior to submitting requests for more than $100,000 or any request for program support.

      Eligibility Requirements

    • Organization Type: Local nonprofit 501(c)(3) health and human service organizations
    • Financial Stability: Must demonstrate stability with committed program support; current financial statements required
    • Funding Mix: Organization should demonstrate healthy funding mix and/or be making progress towards diversifying funding base
    • Board Support: Strong support from organization's board of directors required
    • Matching Funds Encouraged: Foundation welcomes and encourages matching grants and projects with multiple funding sources

      Funding Criteria Considerations

    • Seriousness of the problem and adequacy of proposed action
    • Degree to which proposal enables individuals to help themselves
    • Capability of organization and its personnel to achieve expected results
    • Degree of potential benefit to community
    • Capacity of project to add scale to organization's mission or expand constituency served

      What We Do NOT Fund

    • Agencies located outside the Foundation's geographic area
    • Grants for individuals
    • Grants for municipalities or other governmental units or agencies
    • Grants to national organizations unless funds are for local chapter benefiting local residents
    • Grants to private foundations
    • Grants to international organizations
    • Grants for new agency start-up costs
    • Grants to any individual public or private elementary, middle or high school, except individual charter schools serving children with special needs
    • Grants for administrative computers
    • Grants for seminars and special events
    • Endowments or general operating support
    • Grants for sectarian or religious purposes
    • General animal and environmental programs (except certain educational outreach programs)
    • Grants to lobby legislation or influence public elections
    • General grants for arts and theater
    • Grants for existing obligations (loans, debts) or reimbursement grants
    • Grants during executive transition

      Timeline & Award Notification

    • LOI Deadline: August 20 (of previous year)
    • LOI Decision Notification: Late October
    • Full Proposal Invitation: Late November
    • Site Visits: December through April
    • Grant Awards: Rolling basis from December through May

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Letter of Inquiry (LOI) Submission
    - Complete and submit LOI by August 20 (deadline for 2026 cycle was August 20, 2025 - now closed)
    - Submit online through Grants Portal only (paper applications not accepted)
    - Applicants automatically notified when LOI successfully submitted

    2. LOI Notification & Review
    - Applicants notified by late October if LOI being considered for funding

    3. Full Grant Request (Invited Applicants Only)
    - Selected applicants invited to submit complete grant request by late November
    - Projects submitted for consideration should demonstrate:
    - Strong community needs
    - Clearly defined objectives
    - Strategic plans for implementation

    4. Site Visit & Final Review
    - Selected requests scheduled for site visits by Grants Committee members between December and April
    - Applicants must notify Foundation of any changes to grant request after proposal submission and before site visit

    5. Award Decision & Contract
    - Grants awarded on rolling basis from December through May
    - Applicants notified of award amount and complete grant terms
    - Recipients required to sign Grant Contract (review conditions before applying)

    6. Post-Award Accountability
    - Upon project completion, grantees required to complete Grant Accountability Report online
    - Must detail how funds were used
