Charles Nabit is the founder and driving force behind the foundation. A lawyer and business leader, Mr. Nabit graduated from the University of the South in 1977 with a bachelor of arts degree (magna cum laude) and membership in Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his juris doctor from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1980, graduating ninth in his class of 134 students.
Mr. Nabit began his legal career with the Baltimore law firm Venable, Baetjer and Howard, initially in the corporate department before transitioning to real estate law, where he developed expertise in commercial and industrial real estate development, zoning laws, and civil litigation.
Beyond the foundation, Mr. Nabit has served as a board director for the Walters Art Museum, the B&O Railway Museum, University of Maryland Children's Hospital, the BIC Educational Foundation, and the University of the South. He has also operated a mission-driven seed-to-plate restaurant in partnership with a local educational nonprofit active in Baltimore and Washington, DC.
