NCSHPO IS THE ASSOCIATION OF THE GUBERNATORIALLY APPOINTED OFFICIALS WHO CARRY OUT THE NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT (16 USC 470) FOR THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR AND THE ADVISORY COUNCIL ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION. NCSHPO FACILITATES COMMUNICATION AMONG THE SHPOS AND REPRESENTS THEM AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL WITH CONGRESS, THE ADMINISTRATION AND THE PRIVATE SECTOR.
