In January 2023, the University of Utah announced a $50 million gift from the John and Marcia Price Family Foundation to support its College of Engineering. The gift established a $32.5 million endowment for student scholarships, teaching labs, equipment, and educational initiatives, with discretionary funds to help the college respond to changes. The remaining $17.5 million was designated for construction of a six-story, 253,000-square-foot facility to be named the John and Marcia Price Computing and Engineering Building. The Price Foundation was the first to pledge significant funding for this $190 million building project.
