THE CAMP PROVIDES OTA STUDENTS WITH A UNIQUE HANDS-ON CLINICAL EXPERIENCE WHERE THEY PROVIDE ONE-ON-ONE ASSISTANCE TO CAMPERS, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF LICENSED THERAPISTS. DURING THE CAMP, STUDENTS DEVELOP ESSENTIAL CLINICAL SKILLS, INCLUDING COMMUNICATION, RAPPORT-BUILDING, BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT, THERAPEUTIC HANDLING TECHNIQUES, AND THE APPLICATION OF SPECIALIZED INTERVENTIONS. THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, OTA STUDENTS BUILD MEANINGFUL THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH CAMPER, OFFERING MOTIVATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO HELP THE CHILDREN NAVIGATE CHALLENGING MOVEMENTS AND MAKE THERAPEUTIC GAINS. THE GRANT COVERS HOUSING COSTS FOR 16 OTA STUDENTS ATTENDING THE CAMP, WHICH ALLOWS STUDENTS TO FOCUS FULLY ON THE CAMP EXPERIENCE. | $8,000 |
