Additional college-specific application and deadline requirements may be required. Check with your postsecondary institution. Zell Miller Scholarship is a merit-based award available to Georgia residents, similar to the HOPE Scholarship, but with more stringent academic requirements. A Zell Miller Scholarship recipient must graduate from high school with a minimum 3.70 grade point average (as calculated by GSFC), combined with a minimum SAT score of 1200 or an equivalent ACT composite score. An ACT equivalent score is based on the most recent concordance guide published by the College Board and ACT each January 1. The ACT score requirement may change each year. The ACT equivalent is posted by January 15 each year for the upcoming/award school year. For previous score requirements contact GSFC. The Zell Miller Scholarship program requires students to meet basic requirements to be awarded initially after high school graduation and maintained while enrolled in an eligible college or university (postsecondary institutions).

The requirement to register applies to males who were born on or after January 1, 1960, are at least 18, are citizens or eligible non-citizens who came to the United States prior to age 26;Meet the Eligible Postsecondary Institution’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy;Be in good standing on all student loans or other financial aid programs;Be in compliance with the Georgia Drug-Free Postsecondary Education Act of 1990;Not have exceeded the maximum award limits for any HOPE programIn order to continue receiving the Zell Miller Scholarship, a student must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.3 postsecondary GPA at designated checkpoints. The cumulative 3.3 postsecondary GPA does not include Dual Enrollment coursework taken prior to high school graduation or home study completion.
