Zell Miller Grant Georgia's Zell Miller Grant is available to Georgia residents who are working towards a certificate or diploma at a Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) or University System of Georgia (USG) institution. Zell Miller Grant is a merit-based program available to Georgia residents pursuing a certificate or diploma. A Zell Miller Grant recipient must maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative postsecondary grade point average to remain eligible. Eligible students are provided full standard tuition assistance while enrolled at a Zell Miller Grant eligible college or university in Georgia. The HOPE and/or Zell Miller programs have Paid-Hours and Combined-Paid hours limits: Hours paid while enrolled in high school or as a college student are included in the Combined-Paid Hours and/or Paid-Hours limits.The Grant and Scholarship Combined-Paid Hours limit is 127 semester hours. All hours paid by HOPE and/or Zell Miller Grant or Scholarship are counted in the Combined-Paid hours limit.The Grant Paid-Hours limit is 63 semester hours. All hours paid by HOPE and/or Zell Miller Grant are counted in the Grant Paid-Hours limit. Students who receive HOPE Grant or Zell Miller Grant funding for an eligible program at an Eligible College will have all paid hours count towards the student’s HOPE or Zell Miller Grant 63 Paid-Hours limit and the grades earned will count towards the student’s HOPE or Zell Miller Grant GPA. Credit hours paid by HOPE or Zell Miller Grant will also count towards the HOPE and/or Zell Miller Scholarship 127 Combined-Paid hours limit. Award Amounts The Zell Miller Grant award amount is the standard undergraduate tuition rate based on the school the student attends and the number of hours enrolled. Meet HOPE's U.S. citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements;Be a legal resident of Georgia;Meet enrollment requirements;Be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements;Meet academic achievement standards;Be in good standing on all student loans or other financial aid programs;Be in compliance with the Georgia Drug-Free Postsecondary Education Act of 1990;Not have exceeded the maximum award limits for any HOPE program.Academic EligibilityFull-time enrollment is not required and students are not required to graduate from high school with a specific GPA, however, a minimum 3.5 cumulative postsecondary GPA, at the end of each term, is required in order to maintain eligibility. The first term of enrollment will be paid retroactively if the student has the required 3.5 cumulative postsecondary GPA at the end of the term.Ineligibility
A Zell Miller Grant recipient is ineligible for the grant if the student has:Earned a baccalaureate degree; orReceived Zell Miller or HOPE Grant payments for 63 semester (95 quarter) hours; orReceived payment from any combination of HOPE Scholarship, Zell Miller Scholarship, HOPE Grant, Zell Miller Grant, or Accel Program (through summer 2011) funds totaling 127 semester (190 quarter) hours of credit.Dual credit enrollment hours are not included in these totals.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
