Overview

YTAC Internship Program (Spring)

Program Type: Paid internship for high school students

Geographic Scope: Charlotte area, North Carolina

Target Audience: Current high school students (grades 9-12) interested in technology

Key Features:

  • Compensation: $25 per hour

  • Duration: Typically 4 weeks during spring (historically March 28 - April 22)

  • Schedule: After school hours (typically 4pm-7pm each day)

  • No prior experience required
  • Program Components:

  • Real-world internship experience with leading Charlotte-area fintech firms

  • Technical skill development through group projects

  • Direct presentation of project work to employer executives

  • Opportunity to interact with fintech industry leaders

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Deadline: Midnight of March 20th (for spring cohort)

    Application Format: Online form with multiple sections

    Required Information:
    1. Basic Information:
    - Full name
    - Email address
    - Phone number
    - Grade at beginning of spring 2022
    - School name
    - Street address
    - Confirmation of Charlotte area residency

    2. Program History & Community:
    - Previous YTAC program participation (yes/no)
    - Discord username with tagline (format: username#XXXX) - required for participation
    - House assignment (Phoenix, Sage, Cypher, Omen, or New/Not Sorted)

    3. Resume:
    - Optional resume upload (max 50 MB)

    4. Short Response Questions (approximately 100-200 words each):
    - "How would this internship program benefit you and your goals?" (required)
    - "What makes you unique?" (required) - Can include spirit, background, scholarship, hobbies, personality, or goals, with optional file upload (max 50 MB)
    - "What is a personal project of yours that is important to you?" (required) - Can be volunteering, programming project, hobby, club, activism, art project, or other free-time work, with optional file upload (max 50 MB)
    - "Is there anything else that you want the Selection Committee to know about you, your background, or your ambitions for your future?" (optional)

    Submission Requirements:

  • All required fields must be completed

  • File uploads limited to 50 MB each

  • Short responses should be 100-200 words (not a hard limit if more space needed)
