Young Woman's Home Association Grant

The Young Woman's Home Association Grant supports nonprofit agencies that serve women and children in Wayne County, Michigan. Established in 1877, the grant aims to enhance education, meet basic needs, and promote cultural enrichment. New applicants must submit their applications by August 1, while returning applicants have until September 1. Unfortunately, requests for general operating expenses, capital improvements, and individual scholarships are typically not considered.

NOTE: Agencies who have not previously applied for a YWHA grant (new applicants) should submit their grant applications by August 1; new applications postmarked after August 1 will not be accepted.
Returning applicants should submit no later than September 1; applications postmarked after September 1 will not be accepted.
Today, the Young Woman’s Home Association advances this same mission by providing grants to non-profit agencies serving women and children primarily in Wayne County, Michigan through education, provision of basic needs and cultural enrichment programs.
Every year the Young Woman's Home Association receives numerous grant requests from agencies primarily in the Detroit metropolitan area. The grants we do fund generally fall into one of three categories-- education, basic needs, and culture-- and as our mission states, we fund programs that serve women and children.

Eligibility

YWHA awards grants to nonprofit agencies that provide programs for women and children primarily in Wayne County, Michigan.

Funding requests in the following areas are generally not considered:
