Young Professionals Committee (YPC) Scholarship Program

Overview: Cancer Care's YPC Scholarship Program awards one-time scholarships to young adults entering college or currently enrolled in a four- or six-year program at an accredited college or university in the United States who have lost a parent or guardian to cancer.

Status: Scholarship application is currently closed and will reopen in June 2026.

Geographic Scope: United States (accredited colleges and universities)

Eligibility:

  • Young adults entering college or currently enrolled in a four- or six-year program

  • Attending an accredited college or university in the United States

  • Have lost a parent or guardian to cancer
  • Focus Areas: Supporting young people affected by cancer to pursue academic and personal goals while honoring the memory of deceased parents/guardians

    Track Record: To date, Cancer Care's YPC has awarded 30 scholarships totaling $75,000

    Seynabou Ba Fund

    A special fund within the scholarship program created by a generous anonymous donor to honor the legacy of Seynabou Ba, the inaugural chair of Cancer Care's Young Professionals Committee. Seyna was moved by her own experience with cancer to join the YPC and support young people affected by cancer.
