Yoshi and Millie Ushijima Scholarship Fund Grant

The Yoshi and Millie Ushijima Scholarship Fund, established by their grandchildren, supports residents of Hawai‘i pursuing a four-year degree. Award amounts vary, with an average of $6,000, based on financial need and donor preferences. Eligible applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.5 and can benefit from preference if awarded in the prior year. The fund aims to empower students in STEM fields and support upperclassmen in their educational pursuits.

In 2014, the grandchildren of Yoshi and Millie Ushijima established the Yoshi and Millie Scholarship Fund in memory of their grandparents.
Scholarship funds have varying award amounts ranging from $1,000 or less to several thousand dollars. The award will depend on the size of each scholarship fund, the number of qualified applicants, and the preferences of the donor(s). The average award for students is approximately $6,000.
