Waichi Chan MD Scholarship Fund Grant

The Waichi Chan MD Scholarship Fund, established by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation in 2020, provides financial assistance to students from Hawaii pursuing postsecondary education. Awards range from $1,000 to several thousand dollars, with an average grant of approximately $6,000. Eligible applicants must be Hawaii residents, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. Previous recipients who continue to meet these criteria may also receive funding.

NOTE: The Application deadline is represented by the Pre proposal deadline. The Letters of Recommendation deadline is represented by the Full Proposal deadline.
Scholarship funds have varying award amounts ranging from $1,000 or less to several thousand dollars. The award will depend on the size of each scholarship fund, the number of qualified applicants, and the preferences of the donor(s). The average award for students is approximately $6,000.
