Yappers Grant

The Yappers Grant, provided by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, aims to empower youth aged 0-25 by funding nonprofit organizations that create opportunities and raise awareness for local issues. Eligible organizations must operate for at least a year and comply with anti-discrimination laws. The grants focus on improving health, stable living, effective education, and career advancement for disadvantaged youth, promoting sustainable solutions and community participation.

YAPPERS (Youth Area Philanthropists)
The YAPPERS (Youth Area Philanthropists) strive to engage and empower individuals (0-25) throughout the community. YAPPERS grants provide nonprofit organizations with the opportunity to strengthen their programs.
Requests for funding through the YAPPERS grant process should clearly demonstrate how the program:
is designed to provide opportunities, and/or raise awareness for issues that local individuals (0-25) are facing.will provide opportunities for the community to participate, removes barrier, and promote inclusionimproves quality of life for the most disadvantaged youth in our communityleads to long-term, sustainable solutionsspecifically addresses at least one of YAPPERS’ 4 Promises:General health: mental and physical health, including disabilities (abuse or addiction related issues /nutrition/counseling etc.)Stable living: family life, neighborhoods, shelters, including for immigrants (safe environments at home/school etc., promoting eco-friendly lifestyles)Effective education: Tutoring, after school/summer programs, specifically youth basedCareer advancement: job training, education programs for adults, equal opportunity for all individuals (0-25), life skills.

Eligibility

501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that have been in active service to the public for at least one year prior to the application are eligible.Organizations must operate in a manner that no applicable anti- discrimination laws are violated. Only one proposal may be submitted per organization.
