Overview: The Women's Giving Alliance (WGA) is a giving circle where members contribute individually and award grants collectively to support nonprofits serving women and children in South Lake County. The WGA has raised over $750,000 since its founding to support nonprofits with a strong focus on women and families.

Geographic Scope: South Lake County, Florida (organization does not need to be located in South Lake County, but must serve residents)

Focus Areas: Programs serving women and children that demonstrate systemic change, creative and innovative solutions, and measurable impact

Award History: Past grants range from $1,890 to $31,749 (2015-2023)

Eligibility Requirements

• Recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization OR fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) organization
• Active Employer Identification Number (EIN)
• 3 years of financial and program data available
• Annual operating budget of $3,000,000 or less
• Serve residents of South Lake County

What WGA Does NOT Fund

• Endowments
• Private Foundations (File 990-PF)
• Fundraising expenses, sponsorships, or thrift stores
• Infrastructure improvements (land/building not owned by applicant)
• Lobbying, advocacy, or litigation-related expenses
• Individuals
• Foreign-based organizations
• Political or trade associations
• Religious organizations for religious purposes
• Medical or scientific research
• Organizations that discriminate based on race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, or marital status
