Women in STEM Scholarship

Overview: Designed to support women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The Zonta Club of Denver believes there should be equal opportunities for women with thriving careers in STEM and access to leadership roles.

Award Amount: $1,000 from Zonta Club of Denver. Recipients also eligible for additional $5,000 scholarship at district level.

Geographic Scope: Open to women living or studying in a Zonta district/region. Zonta Club of Denver is in District 12, comprising 19 clubs in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota.

Focus Areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) degrees as defined by the STEM list at https://www.ice.gov/sites/default/files/documents/stem-list.pdf

Eligible Programs:

  • Accredited STEM degree programs at universities, colleges, or institutes

  • Online students are also eligible if enrolled at accredited institution

  • Second year of undergraduate through final year of master's program

    • Eligibility:

  • Women of any age and nationality

  • Pursuing a STEM degree program with outstanding potential

  • Must be enrolled in at least second year of undergraduate program through final year of master's program at time of application submission

  • Must be enrolled in school when funds are disbursed

  • Must not graduate before April 2024

  • NOT eligible: Classified members and employees of Zonta International or Zonta International Foundation, and their family members

    • Use of Funds: Tuition, books, or living expenses
