Purpose

Awards scholarships to deserving and qualified students in engineering, business, information systems, plant, line or distribution technology, line worker or other curriculum related to the electric energy industry, with intent to encourage careers in the electric energy industry.

    Award Categories

  • Alltricity Scholarship Foundation Scholarships: $1,500-$3,000+ awards based on standard eligibility
  • Named Scholarships: Donor-named scholarships available through separate donation arrangements

    Geographic Scope

  • United States (permanent residents only)
  • Primary focus on electric utility industry service areas

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet ALL of the following:

1. Education Level:
- Current high school senior, OR
- High school graduate, OR
- Current university/college undergraduate (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior)

2. Career Focus - ONE of the following:
- Pursuing or planning to pursue an electric industry position certificate (lineman program, renewable energy certificate, etc.) with information about the specific accredited program, OR
- Pursuing or planning to pursue an undergraduate degree with intent to pursue a career in the electric energy industry

3. Additional Requirements:
- Be a permanent U.S. resident
- Complete the online application in its entirety
- NOT receiving more than 75% tuition reimbursement (applicants receiving >75% reimbursement are ineligible)

    Selection Criteria

    A Selection Committee reviews applications based on:
  • Goals and aspirations in the electric energy industry
  • Motivation to succeed
  • Service to community and school
  • Academic performance

    Post-Award Obligations

    Recipients will be asked periodically throughout remaining years of college to provide information including:
  • Expected graduation date
  • Expected degree
  • Internships
  • Post-graduate employment

Additional Benefits

Applicants not awarded scholarships may be added to the National Electric Energy Career Jump Start Directory (with permission) and shared with hundreds of member companies for paid internship and employment opportunities.

Application Requirements

1. Determine Correct Application Form
- Three different application forms available
- Completing the incorrect application may affect eligibility

2. Application Form Options

Option 1 - Current High School Senior:
- Use if currently a high school senior
- Will be enrolling in a 4-year/baccalaureate degree program for 2026-2027 academic year
- Note: High school seniors planning to enroll in certificate/craft programs should use the Craft Program application instead

Option 2 - Current 4-Year/Baccalaureate Degree Student:
- Use if currently enrolled as freshman, sophomore, or junior at a 4-year college/university
- Also use if you are a previous scholarship winner

Option 3 - Craft (Lineman/Operations/Etc.) / Certificate Program Scholarship Application:
- Use if currently enrolled or will be enrolling in a craft program
- Use if currently enrolled or will be enrolling in a certificate program
- Do NOT use if enrolling in a 2-year college with intention to transfer to 4-year college
- Also use if you are a previous scholarship winner

3. Submission Method
- Online application submission required
