NOTE: Grant applications may NOT be submitted online. Current and complete grant proposals must be received at the WHWFTC office no later than the deadline. About WHWFTC Women and children are powerful and precious. Creatures of great strength and vulnerability. Their contributions to our individual lives and collective existence immeasurable and immense. Women Helping Women Fund Tri-Cities believes that empowering women and children will create healthy families and a vibrant community. In fact, it’s our mission. And we believe in our mission’s compounding effects. What started as a vision of four passionate individuals in the late 90’s is now a thriving non profit, dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of women and children throughout the Columbia Basin. Grants Women Helping Women Fund Tri-Cities accepts grant applications on an annual basis. Women Helping Women Fund Tri-Cities values programs that balance cost effectiveness with need, maximize community resources, are viable and sustainable, use a collaborative approach and are able to measure impact and evaluate outcomes. Focus Areas Our Board gives priority to programs that help improve the lives of women and children in the Tri Cities area by assisting in their care and development. Programs will be considered that offer preventive strategies and/or proactive initiatives in one or more of the following areas: Child care/Early learning opportunitiesDrug use prevention, especially as it impacts the lives of childrenFamily violenceFood InsecurityHomelessnessMental HealthYouth MentoringParental and caregiver education and supportPrograms designed to reduce the incidence of high school dropout through direct student assistanceSelf-sufficiency for women (including, but not limited to, employment training) Funding Grants typically range from $2,500-$25,000 and are limited to specific programs sponsored by an agency. The October luncheon proceeds will determine the amount to be awarded for the following grant year January 1-December 31.

To receive funds, your agency must:Have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status as defined by the Internal Revenue Service; andOperate, organize and disseminate services in accordance with current federal guidelines and non-discrimination lawsThe Women Helping Women Fund Tri-Cities uses the following guidelines:WHWF-TC funds specific programs, not agencies which support women and children in vulnerable situations.The WHWF-TC considers grant applications for programs in Benton and Franklin Counties only.WHWF-TC will examine the financial viability of programs and/or agencies.WHWF-TC seeks innovative and creative ways to meet community needs and align with our mission to empower women and children to create healthy families and vibrant communities. WHWF-TC may conduct a site visit during the grant selection process. Additional site visits may occur as part of the post-award process.

Ineligibility

WHWF-TC does not fund individuals, political action organizations, endowment funds, and no more than 15% of administrative costs of the proposed program.
