Winter Grant Cycle- Thomas P. and Lewise S. Parsley Fund Grant

The Winter Grant Cycle from the Thomas P. and Lewise S. Parsley Fund supports essential community initiatives in Western Virginia. Focused on providing prescription medications for the elderly and addressing substance abuse, the fund seeks to enhance the quality of life for financially needy individuals. Organizations in Martinsville, Roanoke, and surrounding counties are encouraged to apply, although the fund does not support deficit reduction or religious programs. This grant aims to foster impactful community outreach.

Community foundations began nationally in 1914 and are publicly-supported, 501(c)(3) philanthropic organizations that hold, administer, invest and make grants from both endowed and non-endowed funds established by individuals, families and others. They were designed to be simple, flexible, convenient, tax-wise, cost-effective and perpetual charitable vehicles.
Today, we administer many hundreds of named endowment funds ranging in size from a minimum of $10,000 to millions of dollars. To date, donors have also committed very significant resources to the Foundation through future estate gifts.

Organizations located in, and serving Cities of Martinsville, Roanoke and Salem, and the counties of Botetourt, Craig, Franklin, Henry, Patrick, and Roanoke

The Foundation's discretionary funds typically do not support deficit reduction, capital campaigns or endowments, fundraising events, sectarian, fraternal or religious programs, or individuals.
