William Warneke Hotshot Memorial Scholarship
Geographic Scope: Pima Community College (Tucson, Arizona)
Background: This scholarship honors William Howard Warneke (Bill), a dedicated firefighter, former Marine, and 2010 graduate of the Fire Sciences Academy at Pima Community College. Bill joined the Granite Mountain Hot Shots in April 2013 and died in service on June 30, 2013, at age 25. He was pursuing a career in wildland firefighting.
Purpose: To encourage students pursuing the important career of Fire Sciences by offering scholarship support to students in the PCC Fire Academy program in Bill's name.
