William Coon Jr. Scholarship USACFA offers four $2,500 William Coon Jr. Scholarships in memory of Bill Coon Jr. every calendar year. Any student with cystic fibrosis seeking a degree in any of the following is welcome to apply: business, economics, communications, political science, information, project management, finance, accounting, public administration, or marketing. Scholarships shall be awarded to US college students with cystic fibrosis based on financial need in conjunction with the current scholarship criteria. The current criteria will include consideration of grade point average, community service, leadership, and challenges because of a CF diagnosis. Bill’s sister passed away at 18 years old, which made Bill very focused on the reality of his condition. This provided Bill with an underlying level of maturity that he carried throughout his whole life. He found a home with USACFA for information, direction, and comfort. Bill understood the challenges and wanted to help others who were traveling the same path. He was a good friend, and a good brother. His legacy and care for others will live on through USACFA.
