About Our Scholarships Since 1983, the Community Foundation has awarded over $11.9 million in scholarships from 136 funds established by generous individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits to help area students pursue an education and establish rewarding careers. William and Gladys Murdock Scholarship Established in memory of William H. Murdock and Gladys Covell Murdock. Provides scholarships for graduating seniors or current college students including those seeking graduate degrees, who are residents of Pomfret, CT. The Murdock’s goal was to provide financial assistance to further the education, including college or professional school, of any deserving Pomfret student.
