Located in Newton, CKCF is a host foundation to 18 affiliates in the central Kansas region, supporting rural philanthropy. History The CKCF based in Newton, Kansas is thriving as a viable community foundation serving Newton while also being host to numerous affiliate community foundations throughout central Kansas. The Central Kansas Community Foundation was originally founded in 1994. Following a stable history serving a tri-county area the foundation merged in 2009 with the well-established Greater Newton Community Foundation. Today, the CKCF continues to demonstrate a commitment to strengthening communities across the entire Central Kansas region. Wayne Willis Foundation Scholarship Fund The scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to current graduating high school seniors or college/graduate students who are furthering their careers through a degree in wildlife management or conservation of natural resources.Eligibility

Qualified individuals are those who plan to attend a Kansas Regent’s Institution (i.e., Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, Pittsburg State University, University of Kansas, Washburn University, Wichita State University, Allen Community College, Barton Community College, Butler Community College, Cloud County Community College, Coffeyville Community College, Colby Community College, Cowley Community College, Dodge City Community College, Fort Scott Community College, Garden City Community College, Highland Community College, Hutchinson Community College, Independence Community College, Johnson County Community College, Kansas City Kansas Community College, Labette Community College, Neosho County Community College, Pratt Community College, Seward County Community College); Possess a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher; Intends to pursue at least a bachelor’s degree; and Provides evidence of coursework completed that includes science courses indicating a STRONG interest in Wildlife management or conservation work.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
