Wausau Area H.O.P.E. Hmong Women Scholarship Grant

The Wausau Area H.O.P.E. Hmong Women Scholarship, established by the H.O.P.E. Women, aims to support deserving Hmong women from the greater Wausau area. This scholarship recognizes academic excellence, personal integrity, and community involvement. Eligible candidates include high school seniors and college students who maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate a commitment to bettering their community. The scholarship is part of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin's broader mission to enhance local quality of life.

Scholarships
More than 200 students throughout north central Wisconsin, from pre-school to post-graduate, will be awarded scholarships totaling more than $300,000 from the 125 endowed scholarship funds administered within the Community Foundation.
Purpose of the Fund
The Wausau Area H.O.P.E Hmong Women Scholarship was established by the H.O.P.E. (Hmong Organization for the Promise of Enrichment) Women to award scholarships to able and deserving minority women based on scholastic ability, personal integrity, and evidence of desire to better the community. The scholarships are open to Hmong women who are residents of the greater Wausau area. High school graduating seniors and currently enrolled college students are eligible to apply.
Applications from high school students will be evaluated separately from those of college students.

Eligibility

Candidates for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:Hmong woman from the greater Wausau areaEmbrace the Hmong culture and act as a positive role model for younger girlsExhibit character, motivation, and/or experience in overcoming obstaclesDisplay a desire to better the communityCarry a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greaterPlan to enroll as a full-time student and work toward an associate, bachelor, or masters degree in the upcoming school year
