Overview

Charitable Giving We work with local leaders, organizations and partners on initiatives that support meaningful community engagement. Causes we support Environmental Stewardship - With a commitment to sustainability, we give priority consideration to organizations whose programs preserve and/or enhance renewable resources and empower environmental stewards. Sustainability Education - We’re committed to equipping individuals with knowledge needed to enhance their communities through programs that support clean, resilient and sustainable place to live. Community Vitality - When we ensure that our neighborhoods and communities are safe and sustainable, we provide the best living environment for customers, employees and stakeholders. Workforce + Skills Development - We strive to give individuals the tools and training they need to excel while empowering employees to take care of customers, neighbors and their environment. Supplier Diversity - We address inequity and economic development for underserved groups by working towards targets that prioritize collective impact, collaboration, education and achieving ambitious sustainability initiatives. Ineligibility

We typically do not financially support operating costs, capital campaigns, individuals or foundations.The Waste Management Charitable Contributions program does not fund:Individuals;Travel by groups or individuals;Individual requests for fundraising events such as walks, runs and others;Religious organizations which limit their services to members of one religious group or those whose purpose or emphasis is to propagate a particular religious faith or creed such as churches, missionary groups, sectarian welfare or relief efforts.Exceptions may be granted where programs benefit the community at large (e.g., contributions to support a church's community soup kitchen, etc.);Political candidates or lobbying organizations;Endowments or Foundations;Organizations with a limited constituency, such as fraternities, or labor groups;Organizations that have discriminatory policies regarding ethnic background, gender, religious affiliation, etc.; andAnti-business groups.
