Jones Testamentary Trust was established in 1961 to provide educational and medical support to those residing in Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties in Kansas. Over time the trust has been allowed to take on additional charitable support such as human services and community development projects. Walter and Evan were successful farmers and cattlemen, which was the source of wealth for this very generous gift bestowed upon these communities. The original trust was established to help develop a cure for polio. In the early 1960s when a vaccine was licensed, it was at the judgment of the courts to administer the trust as it is today.
