Visionary Women Grants

Mission: Visionary Women supports nonprofit organizations and initiatives that advance the status of women and girls in the Greater LA area.

Women + the Arts

  • Support participation and advancement in the arts for women and girls, including visual arts, theatre, dance, music, film and literature

  • Women + Education

  • Support initiatives which improve academic outcomes for girls K-12

  • Support access to college and other post-secondary programming that improves academic outcomes and/or increases the number of women who receive degrees, diplomas, certifications, and licensure

  • Support female entrepreneurs from communities that have been under-resourced by traditional funding sources

  • Support initiatives that offer education and/or up-skilling training to achieve career mobility opportunities for women

  • Support programs that remove barriers to women's full participation and success in the workforce

  • Support initiatives that advance workplace policies that allow women to thrive and participate fully in the economy
  • Women + Social Services

  • Support programming that provides real-time solutions, training, and advocacy for women and girls who are experiencing housing insecurity, food insecurity, and gender-based violence

  • Support programming that provides mental health wellness for young girls, teenagers, and women

  • Support programming that abates the environmental consequences of climate change on women, particularly indigenous women, and low-income communities
  • Eligibility Requirements

    • Organization must have 501(c)(3) status
    • Organization has been operational for at least three years and has annual revenues of $500,000 or more
    • Organization or program operates in the greater Los Angeles area
    • Organization or program serves a population that is at least 75% women/girls, or who identify as women/girls
    • Program must be non-sectarian
    • Organization must be consistent with and furthers the mission of Visionary Women
    • Proposed grant must support a specific program or initiative focused on at least one of the funding areas of focus listed above
    • No organization may receive more than one grant in a calendar year
    • If an organization has been funded for 3 consecutive years, they are ineligible to apply for a period of 2 years following the end of the last grant period

    Grant Process

    2. Selected applicants are then invited to complete a full application for funding consideration
