Established in 1988 to support a broad array of programs and services that focus on helping victims in the immediate aftermath of crime and continuing to support them as they rebuild their lives. Funded through fines and penalties paid by convicted federal offenders, gifts, donations, and bequests by private parties. No tax dollars finance the fund. All services provided to individual crime victims at no cost.
