Overview
The first federal funding stream solely dedicated to provision of direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. Also receives funds through the Violence Against Women's Act. Directs grant dollars to states and territories to support rape crisis centers and other nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations or tribal programs providing services and direct intervention to victims of sexual assault. Provides intervention, advocacy, accompaniment and support services to adult, youth and child victims of sexual assault, family/household members and those collaterally affected.
