Overview
The first federal funding stream solely dedicated to the provision of direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. Also receives funds through the Violence Against Women's Act administered by the Federal Office on Violence Against Women. Directs grant dollars to states and territories to support rape crisis centers and nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations or tribal programs providing services to victims of sexual assault. Provides intervention, advocacy, accompaniment and support services to adult, youth and child victims of sexual assault, family/household members and others collaterally affected.
