Overview

The first federal funding stream solely dedicated to direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. Receives funds through the Violence Against Women's Act administered by the Federal Office on Violence Against Women. Directs grant dollars to states and territories to support rape crisis centers and other nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations or tribal programs. Funds support intervention, advocacy, accompaniment and other support services to adult, youth and child victims of sexual assault and collaterally affected individuals.
