Overview

First federal funding stream solely dedicated to direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. Receives funds from Violence Against Women Act administered by Federal Office on Violence Against Women. Directs grant dollars to states and territories to support rape crisis centers and nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations or tribal programs providing intervention, advocacy, accompaniment and support services to adult, youth and child victims of sexual assault and collaterally affected individuals.
