Overview

First federal funding stream solely dedicated to the provision of direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. Also receives funds through the Violence Against Women's Act administered by the Federal Office on Violence Against Women. Directs grant dollars to states and territories to support rape crisis centers and other nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations or tribal programs. Funds support intervention, advocacy, accompaniment and other support services to adult, youth and child victims of sexual assault, family/household members and collaterally affected persons.
