Overview
ViaCU Teacher Grants
Purpose: Funding to conduct innovative classroom projects that make creative use of common teaching aids, approach curriculum from an imaginative angle, or tie nontraditional concepts together.
Award Amount: $100 to $500 per project
- Applicants: All certified preK-12 teachers
- Geographic Scope: Teachers working in school districts in the following Indiana counties: Blackford, Delaware, Grant, Hamilton, Howard, Huntington, Kosciusko, Madison, Miami, Tipton, Wabash, or Wells County
Eligibility
- Innovation and merit account for 40% of the evaluation
Evaluation Criteria
- Sole Funding: ViaCU wants to be the sole funding agent for your project
- Co-funding: In exceptional cases, a grant may be awarded in conjunction with funding from another source (must be indicated in the budget section)
Funding Guidelines
- Applications Available: July 1 - September 30 annually
- Current Cycle: 2025-2026 (19 grants awarded totaling $7,503.40)

How to Apply
1. Complete the Application Form
- Submit a complete ViaCU Teacher Grant application
2. Write an Essay
- Include essay as part of the application submission
3. Submit Application Materials
- Submit application and essay to Via Credit Union on or before September 30 of each year
4. Mail Transcript
- Mail a copy of your transcript to:
- Scholarship Committee

- Marion, IN 46953
5. Provide References
- Ensure both a teacher and the Guidance Counselor complete a Reference Form
6. Budget Section
- Indicate if receiving additional funds from another source
- All submitted materials will become the property of the selection committee
- Interviews may be conducted if needed
- Award will be made upon receipt of proof of project completion
