Vancouver Parks & Recreation: Everybody Plays

Overview: Recreation scholarships ensuring youth and disabled adults have access to recreational programs, swim lessons, sports participation, day camps, and music/dance/art classes.

Geographic Scope: Vancouver and Clark County, Washington

Focus Areas:

  • Swim lesson access for youth and disabled adults

  • Low to moderate income families unable to afford recreational programs

    • Program Impact (2018 data):

  • 284 children learned to swim

  • 196 disabled youth and adults participated in recreational programs and camps

  • 131 kids participated in sports leagues and classes

  • 113 youth and teens participated in music, dance, and art

  • 48 families received 3-month summer recreation passes

    • Mission: Ensure a healthy and safe lifestyle is available and accessible to all.
