Valley Guardians Youth Scholarship & Empowerment Initiative

Program Focus: Builds future leaders in the Valley by breaking the cycle of poverty. The program supports scholars from middle school through college with multi-year personalized mentoring, placement in top college prep schools, and college assistance.

Program Scale

• Challenge in Phoenix adds a class of six scholars each year
• Currently supports 48 scholars in grades 5-12 each year
• The Challenge Foundation continues to support scholars throughout their collegiate careers at universities across the country

• Support from middle school through college

History

• The Challenge Foundation in Phoenix was started in 2013 with six scholars entering middle school at All Saints' Episcopal Day School

Eligibility

• Students in grades 5-12
• Grades 5-12 (Challenge adds 6 new scholars in grades 5-6 each year)
