United Tompkins Impact Fund (UTIF)

UTIF grants are awarded on a 2-year cycle to agencies and organizations that address identified priorities to meet community needs.

Key Details:

• Cycle Length: 2-year grant cycle
• Geographic Scope: Tompkins County, New York
• Focus Areas: Community identified priorities addressing basic needs including:
  • Youth services and sexual abuse prevention
  • Housing and homelessness services
  • Emergency financial assistance
  • Workforce development for people with disabilities
  • Family services and early childhood education
  • Childcare quality enhancement
  • Arts and cultural programming
  • Food systems and nutrition
  • Conflict resolution and peacemaking

Eligibility:

• Must have operations in Tompkins County
• Must be a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization, tax exempt church, tax exempt governmental organization, or have a tax exempt 501(c)(3) as a fiscal sponsor

Process:

• Priorities and desired outcomes identified every two years in advance of grant cycle
• Based on community needs assessment
• UWTC tracks and measures outcomes annually
• All three stages (priority setting, grant awards, evaluation) conducted by UWTC volunteers and staff with UWTC Board approval
