Program Overview

Salem Electric offers 10 scholarships of $1,500 each annually to applicants of all ages pursuing full-time undergraduate programs. Scholarships are awarded based on school activities, academic promise, and quality of application and essay. The Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) administers the application process and selection.

Eligibility Requirements

• Primary Address: Must be served by Salem Electric
• Education Level: High school graduate (including home-school graduates) or GED recipient
• Enrollment: Must enroll in full-time undergraduate program at accredited institution
• Eligible Institutions:
- Accredited two-year college or university - Accredited four-year college or university - Accredited technical or trade school
• Age: Open to applicants of all ages
• Ineligible: Salem Electric staff, board members, and their immediate family members

• Current Status: Application closed for 2026-2027 academic year
• Reopening: November 2026 for 2027-2028 academic year
• Prior Year Deadlines: Early Bird deadline February 17, 2026; Application deadline March 2, 2026 (for reference)
