UDAEF Grants for Upper Darby School District Initiatives

Overview: The Upper Darby Arts & Education Foundation (UDAEF) rewards innovative educational initiatives that enrich and enhance the educational experience of students in the Upper Darby School District, especially those addressing areas that benefit large numbers of UDSD students but may not be possible within the district's budget constraints.

  • Award Amount: Grants generally limited to $1,000 or less; however, requests for larger amounts will be considered on a case-by-case basis for programs of exceptional educational or cultural value that will make a significant impact on many students. All grants are limited by funds available in a particular year.

    Background: Since 1998, UDAEF has funded over $2,000,000 in grants to Upper Darby teachers, students, administrators, and programs.

  • How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Develop your project/initiative - Ensure it is consistent with the Foundation Grant Application Guidelines

    2. Complete application form - Submit the Foundation Grant Application form to your school principal by March 1st. Any applications submitted after the deadline will automatically be deferred until the following year.

    3. School principal review - Your principal will review and approve/decline your proposed project and submit it to UDSD administration for review.

    4. District review - Upon District approval, the submission goes to UDAEF administration.

    5. Committee and Board review - The UDAEF Grants Committee will review all grant requests and forward to the UDAEF Board of Directors with recommendations for funding consideration.

    6. Award notification - All applicants will receive notification of award decisions by early May.

    7. Year End Report (required for future funding) - To complete the process and be eligible for future Foundation Grants, submit a Year End Grant Report with appropriate documentation and photos attached to admin@udfoundation.org no later than one year from the award date.
