Overview: A nursing scholarship program sustained through the generosity of donors and alumnae of the Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. The fund supports aspiring nurses enrolled in accredited nursing programs.

History:

  • Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing established in 1906 by Swedish Hospital to meet demand for skilled nursing professionals

  • Hospital renamed Trinity Lutheran Hospital of Kansas City in 1921

  • Provided premier nursing education for over 65 years

  • Final class graduated in 1972 as diploma programs were phased out

  • More than 50 years later, alumnae remain dedicated to the nursing profession

    • Eligibility:

  • Students enrolled in accredited nursing programs

  • For 2025-2026, 84 students from 23 nursing programs received awards

  • 2025-2026: $157,000 awarded to 84 nursing students

  • Since 2003: Nearly 1,000 nursing scholarships totaling $2.9 million awarded
