Legacy Grants for Behavioral Health

Overview: Launched in 2023 to address the growing need for accessible, community-based behavioral health services. These grants support selected Federally Qualified Health Centers to increase their capacity to provide behavioral health services.

Geographic Scope: Kansas City region

Eligibility:

  • Federally Qualified Health Centers (invitation-only)
  • Focus Areas:

  • Behavioral health programs integrated into primary care or community health

  • Trauma-informed therapy and response services

  • Outreach and education aimed at reducing stigma

  • Culturally competent and language-accessible mental health care

  • Programs that improve access for uninsured or underinsured populations
  • Current Partners:

  • Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center (mobile mental health van and pediatric/adolescent services expansion)

  • Health Partnership Clinic (mental health screening and care coordination in Johnson County)
