Transportation Fund

Purpose: Reimbursement program to support field trips for economically disadvantaged students.

Geographic Scope: Indiana (schools must be verified by the Indiana Department of Education)

Eligibility:

• 50% or more of students must be economically disadvantaged (as indicated by the Indiana Department of Education)
• Schools/groups planning field trips to Conner Prairie Museum

Award Details:

• Reimbursement rate: $5.00 per student
• Maximum: $500.00 total per school/group
• This is a reimbursement program — transportation support is not provided in advance; reimbursement occurs after the field trip

What is Required:

• A completed survey must be submitted before or at the time of reimbursement request
• Evaluation form must be completed and returned after the field trip
• Check is made payable to the school and sent by US Mail

Processing Timeline:

• Payments processed following the field trip and upon submission of completed evaluation
• Processing typically takes up to one month, though efforts are made to process timely

Application Process

1. Verify Eligibility: Confirm that 50% or more of your students are economically disadvantaged according to Indiana Department of Education records
2. Plan Your Visit: Schedule a field trip to Conner Prairie Museum
3. Complete Survey: A survey must be completed and returned before or at the time of reimbursement request
4. Conduct Field Trip: Take your students to Conner Prairie
5. Submit Evaluation: Complete and return the evaluation form following your field trip visit
6. Receive Reimbursement:
   • A check will be issued and sent by US Mail to the school
   • Reimbursement is calculated at $5.00 per student (maximum $500.00 total)
   • Processing takes up to one month from submission of completed evaluation
