Transportation Fund

The Transportation Fund provides reimbursement to support school field trip transportation costs to Conner Prairie for economically disadvantaged students.

Geographic Scope: Indiana (schools with students indicated by the Indiana Department of Education)

Eligibility:

• 50% or more of students must be economically disadvantaged (as indicated by the Indiana Department of Education)
• Schools/groups that visit Conner Prairie for field trips

Funding Details:

• Reimbursement Rate: $5.00 per student
• Maximum Reimbursement: $500.00 per school/group
• Type: Reimbursement program (not provided in advance of visit)

Requirements:

• Reimbursement is only provided AFTER the field trip visit
• A completed survey must be submitted before or at the time of reimbursement request
• An evaluation form must be completed and returned
• Grant recipients receive a check made payable to the school, sent by US Mail
• Processing time: up to one month (efforts made to process timely)

Additional Information: This is a reimbursement program designed to help economically disadvantaged students access museum educational experiences by offsetting transportation costs.

Application Process

1. Eligibility Verification: Confirm that 50% or more of your student group meets economically disadvantaged criteria per Indiana Department of Education standards
2. Schedule Field Trip: Arrange your field trip visit to Conner Prairie
3. Complete Visit: Conduct your field trip with students
4. Submit Documentation: After the field trip, submit:
   • Completed survey/evaluation form
   • Documentation of number of students who attended
5. Request Reimbursement: Submit reimbursement request with evaluation form
6. Receive Payment: Check will be mailed to school within up to one month
