About the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Founded in 1925, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is the community foundation for Greater Hartford - the City of Hartford and 28 surrounding towns. Over the years, individuals and families have donated money to the Foundation, creating an endowment. From the endowment, the Foundation makes grants to a broad range of nonprofit organizations in the region. There are more than 160 funds at the Foundation devoted specifically to scholarships. About the Scholarship Program Since 1945, The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Scholarship Program has awarded nearly $30 million to students attending colleges in Connecticut and across the country. The Hartford Foundation Scholarship Program helps award hundreds of scholarships each year to local students seeking post-secondary higher education. Town and County Club Fund This fund was created by members of the Town and County Club in Hartford. It supports adult women in pursuit of higher education in partnership with an advisory committee members of Club members. Number of awards: 5-10

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Selection CriteriaFemale, age 25 or above as of May 1 of award year. Resident of one of the 29 towns served by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. An undergraduate and pursuing an A.A./A.S. or B.A./B.S. degree at one of the following colleges or universities: Goodwin University, Trinity College, University of Connecticut Hartford Campus, University of Hartford, University of Saint Joseph, Connecticut State Community College Asnuntuck, Connecticut State Community College Capital, Connecticut State Community College Manchester, or Connecticut State Community College Tunxis. Have a GPA of 2.5 or above. Have completed 15 hours or the equivalent of academic work by the end of the 2025 fall semester. Eligible for financial assistance as determined by the federal FAFSA (FSS). Preference for students working toward their A.A./A.S. or B.A./B.S. degree.
